The BioAdvisor WordPress Site
I created this site as a knowledge base for our undergraduate population. Student can use this site to learn how to:
- Enroll as a new Transfer Student in our department
- Prepare for advising and consider some courses that are not in the catalog
- Get coursework approved for a future study abroad experience
- Get academic credit for experiential learning
Microlearning Asset for Undergraduate Research
Using Mediasite, I created this video to answer frequently asked questions from students about getting undergraduate research experience. It is posted on our Departmental website at https://bio.sciences.ncsu.edu/undergraduate/engagement-opportunities/undergraduate-research/
“This is an amazing video and resource. I appreciate your efforts to make this for our students. I’m sending it out to my advisees and the Micro Club.” – Faculty member, Department of Biological Sciences
Avian Skeletal Adaptation Website (from 1999)
In 1999, as a graduate student and teaching assistant for WFSC 402 General Ornithology Lab, I built this site (using .html code; no editing or publishing program) to help undergraduates learn content for their course. While the page appears rudimentary by today’s standards, it demonstrates an early interest in leveraging technology for educational purposes.
Nature of Science Web Page (from 2000)
Also as a graduate student in 2000, I built this website for pre-service teachers (using .html code; no no editing or publishing program ) to help them learn about how to teach students about the Nature of Science. While the page appears rudimentary by today’s standards, it demonstrates and early interest in leveraging technology for educational purposes.
